Chelsea Heights are going full steam ahead with plans to launch its inaugural women’s team in 2018, with the club set to host a Women’s Football Info Session to introduce prospective players to Beazley Reserve.
The session will also serve as a formal opportunity to meet the coach of their women’s team, Michelle Vernall, who was officially appointed to the role in November.
Vernall has a strong fitness background, having worked as a personal trainer for the last 15 years, and has playing and coaching experience in a variety of sports. She has previously played competitive football at Parkdale and Berwick, as well as Gaelic football and state-level netball, and also coached basketball and soccer teams. This wealth of experience ensures Vernall is well-equipped to lead the Heighters’ inaugural team this season.
Details of the Heighters’ preseason program will also be outlined at the session.
The club is still looking for numbers to help establish its women’s team in 2018 and invites all prospective female footballers to come along to Beazley Reserve on Thursday 15th February and see what the club has to offer.
All female players interested in joining Chelsea Heights should contact co-Presidents Kellie Peryman (0416 282 026) or Paul Larkin (0400 663 113).
Date: Thursday 15 February
Venue: Beazley Reserve, Thames Promenade, Chelsea Heights
