PAUL JEMMESON joined the SFNL Board in 2016 after a lifelong involvement in football across all levels. Paul played approximately 300 games with Bentleigh, Seaford, Sandringham and Edithvale/Aspendale between 1986 and 2010 and is a Life Member of the Bentleigh Football Netball Club. He is the current President of Bentleigh Junior Football Club and his family is also heavily involved in football and netball in the region.
Extending on from his life in playing and coaching, Paul has participated in developing the game from its youngest level at Auskick, through juniors, to his role with the senior clubs and the League. This holistic approach has exposed Paul to the full breadth of issues facing community football and gives him the experience required to support and drive the sustainability of the League.
Paul’s involvement on the Board sees him currently involved in the Football Operations Portfolio, where he has a strong passion for finding ways to better integrate older age junior players into Under 19 teams at senior SFNL Clubs. Paul sees this integration as fundamental to the sustainability of the Under 19 competition and underpinning the development of successful senior clubs.
Professionally, Paul holds the position of Principal, Planning Property and Environment with Aus/NZ company, Beca. As a Development Consultant with more than 30 years’ experience in development facilitation and strategic master planning, Paul has acted for many major industrial companies such as Lion, GrainCorp and Schweppes and major aged care provider Ryman Healthcare. He has also provided strategic planning advice to a wide variety of corporate and government clients across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
Paul is married and has two children actively involved in football and netball in the region.
